As much as I love conspiracy theories, I'm not turning this into a discussion about crop circles. Its more of an outfit description actually. Bear with with me.

Weekends in my world usually tend to have lots of food, cosy PJs and crazy TV marathons. Oh, I also study somewhere in between all this wonderful revelry, but then, sleep usually gets in the way, or that phone call from my cousin inviting me to the beach with him. That's weekend with me for you. So imagine my surprise when I had definite plans for Saturday evening. Yes, just a like a grown up person, with a nice place and real people and everything (as opposed to my imaginary boyfriends)!









While it was an informal dinner, I decided I needed to make more of an effort (well, I don't think the people at the restaurant would appreciate my thread-bare tshirt, no matter how cool I think it is). I've been lusting after circle skirts for quite sometime, but since I have barely any money to cover my food for the week, well, it was time to get creative. I wore a dress with a full skirt as a well, skirt, and added my trusty chinese collar top (this is such a life saver!) as a crop. Oh, and since I wanted to have a more boho look, I added a headband. This makes me feel like I stepped out of the pages of Disco Diva or Boho Bombshell (wait, is that a real thing?)

Today' post is basically an ode to how much love I have for my new sunglasses. I've never really been a big fan of wayfarers. I always thought they made my face disappear but when I tried these folding ones from Ray-Ban, I KNEW I had found my match. I've been wearing them every single day since I got them, and can I say, I love them! Its an epic love affair.

I wore this to Uni today, and I got lots of compliments for how pretty the top was. Its old, gift from my cousin, and its got butterflies. However, I keep the look minimal since I wanted to have my wayfarers in focus!







I think its the hinges that make these fit just that slight bit more snug on my pea-sized face than the normal wayfarers. I had borrowed my friend's normal wayfarers once, and they just tipped forward and slid right of my face everytime I looked down. Apart from fabulous looks, these also block out a lot of light and have UV protection which means they actually do the work they're supposed to (aka, protecting my peepers) , unlike some sunglasses that simply look good but are quite worthless in their actual purpose. In my opinion, these are definite must-have for everyone! Oh, and since they're such a classic design they'll never go out of style!

Finally, let me tell you how brilliant they are in fitting into tiny spaces. Imagine a tiny clutch taken to brunch, well, these will fit quite nicely in that clutch, come with a small pouch for just that purpose, and also leave some space for all your other bits and bobs in the clutch (read phone, gloss, tissues, money). I can just see myself looking cooler than all those other ladies at brunch who have their glasses on their heads (secretly thinking they look cool but the fact is t they probably don't have anywhere else to keep it already). If you don't have them already, get them! They're a complete investment and will make your life that much cooler!

Its the second day of 2014. I've been to Uni today, caught up with what all my friends did over the holidays and overall had a relaxed day. A few friends who had been overseas got chocolates, so I did spend a major portion of the afternoon stuffing my face. No, I kid you not. I had about three chocolates in my mouth at one time, and still tried really hard to wedge another one in there. If you've ever spent any time with hostel-ites, you know its either eat it or lose it when they're around.

Anyway, on to today's outfit. I decided to wear something relaxed and air out my only pair of jeans that fit. I've lost quite a bit of weight in the last few months thanks to Uni stress and this is how practically ever morning starts when I have to get dressed on time.

Me*whines and wails*: Muuum, these pants don't fit either!

Mum: You need to eat something my love. You're really disappearing.

Me: I really don't have time for that mum, what do I do?!*hysterical by now since I'm already late*

Mum*calmer than the ocean voice*: This is what belts were invented for you know. Go try one of your million belts.

Me: Realising I haven't tried my belts on yet, runs and tries to pull one out. Of course they all decided to jump out together, and get tangled together at that. Yay! That's another five minutes to my morning routine.

Me: (after trying three belts and wishing my pants magically shrink a size): No!!! Mom!! These make me look like a coat hanger, It looks Terrrible! MOOOOM!! I'm late!!!

And so on...I won't bore you anymore. But yes, as you can imagine, when I found these jeans hiding at the back of my closet, I SCREAMED! Hallelujah! They fit! Without a belt! (which means they don't fall down without one)




I added this necklace to spruce things up a little bit. I love how it brightens up the whole look. A pretty casual look you can wear to college or coffee. I think accessories are great for days when you can't be bothered with too much thinking in the morning.
