3 ways to Wear : T-shirt Dress

12:01:00

Last weekend (which is now actually about 3 weekends ago since I've been a terrible blogger) I posted a picture on my Instagram that was actually just me being a super lazy person on the weekend with a hat to hide my ugly hair (5 days and no washing cos work was demanding like that!). Sometimes you just need a lazy girl outfit and a tshirt dress is the perfect way to be cosy, comfy and still super chic when it comes to weekend dressing.

A t-shirt dress currently all the rage and it's available in several prints. I literally just picked this ombre dyed one from the black of my closet. It's about 3 sizes too big for me and if you've got an older brother, it's perfectly acceptable to steal his clothes are pretend they're a dress too! (I usually just go get a couple of tshirts from the mens section in XL or XXL sizes and then just wear them like I 'borrowed' them from my older brother!)

Anyway, sneaky tips to wear your brother's clothes aside, let's dive into the three ways to wear a t-shirt dress... no matter what you're doing!

The Business Casual Look

Okay, excuse the fact that I really didn't bother to iron this top before taking these photos... I think this is a great Friday workwear look. Adding a structured piece like this long blazer gives it a more formal vibe and a pair of block heels and a fun bag complete the look. Fridays are for sliding right into a party from the office and this

The Sporty Chic Look

While I may not be a sporty girl at heart, I can appreciate the complete comfort of a sports inspired look. A pair of simple white sneakers, an oversized tshirt dress and a hat to hide just how greasy my hair is after playing sports (erm... shopping for a few hours counts as sports and carrying then hence money converted to clothes in bags is definitely a feat comparable to a gym!)

The Flirty Female Look

Finally, there's absolutely nothing wrong with being a little cheeky and showing a bit of skin when it's summer. The easiest way to wear a tshirt dress and not look like a sack is to add a nice little belt around the smallest part of your waist. I still had really greasy hair so I added another hat (this is totally turning into what you should do if you have a bad hair day parallel post aswell!). A pair of animal print loafers that I thrifted from Elanic and a simple bag to complete the final look.

I hope you do give a t-shirt dress a chance after seeing these looks. I really think it's a super simple and versatile piece that can be styled up or styled down depending on what you fancy on that particular day. I've seen several of these around on the streets and also online. I especially like this one, and even this cheeky one here.
