#OfficeChic: How to Wear The Tricolor to Work
11:45:00
Happy Monday you guys! It's just a week till Independence day and while I'm sure everyone's currently celebrating Raksha Bandhan with your family, I can't help but plan ahead and think about next week. India's celebrating 70 years of Independence this 15th August and today's look is how you can incorporate the national colors into your office wardrobe without looking too over the top!
Today's look is about wearing the Indian flag and still looking put together and polished will still being patriotic! This is something a lot of working people struggle with, and in case you have competitions around wearing your patriotic best while still juggling meetings with your client in the US, then this post should definitely give you major inspiration.
I started the look with a white sheath dress that I've worn countless times to work and paired it with a royal blue blazer to add a much needed pop of color. I have a beautiful scarf in shades of orange and green and I decided to add an extra bit of orange by using an orange lipstick too! Keeping the hair and accessories simple, what you get is a look that's perfect for meetings while you still keep up with the nation's spirit of celebration.

Tips to wear the tricolor to work will still looking put together:
- Look for a solid colored base to build the entire outfit on. Try a while dress like me or go for a solid blue or green coloured dress. This is a great starting piece which can be layered to incorporate bright colors.
- If you don't have a piece of clothing in a particular color, try an accessory in that shade. Think a leaf printed dress in white with orange statement necklace. Maybe a pair of white danglers with a green dress and orange heels? Really, accessories are a cool way to add subtle tricolor shades into your outfit.
- If all else fails, add a bit of makeup! Like I did, you can always add all the shades you don't have in your outfit as makeup. Orange lips or powder blue eyeshadow? White eyeliner maybe?
- Remember, layering is key. Why not turn your orange dupatta into a jacket and wear it on top of your dress? Use your imagination
