Yet another throwback post. My family is a big on beach outings. This was what I wore to a 'beach day' and then lunch at a restaurant with the family. I love lazy days like this, and right now, when I'm burdened with a million assignments that need to be completed before the end of this month, the post gives me hope for the future.








Little white dresses are the new LBDs. Okay, so I don't really think so to be honest. I however believe a nice white cotton dress works really well with the Mumbai weather. I didn't wear all the pearly goodies when we went to the beach though. I'm not that crazy. Also, my brother tends to think sand baths are a great way to bond...so...yea.

Oh yes! It was a white Monday! I decided I'd go traditional for the day since it is a fairly colorful festival (no, mum had nothing to do with it, honest!). I paired basics that you can find in any Indian girl's wardrobe with a statement piece, aka my fabulous Anushree Reddy scarf! I have to say, I was totally floored by all the compliments I got for this scarf!! You may remember it from my post on Anushree Reddy's collection at Lakme Fashion Week. I added these earrings from yesterday again (thank you so much Martyne!!) since I felt they went well with the whole gold, white and pink theme I had going on. All in all, an outfit that I'm extremely happy with, and one which you can replicate easily with things you already have in your wardrobe!

Flowers on my clothes always seem to remind me of flowy curtains or motherly bedsheets. I've never been a big fan of them on my clothes. The fact that I even bought a pair of shorts that had flowers on them is surprising to me. Frankly, I couldn't resist how soft and comfy they looked and since I was stocking up for summer in the midst of a surprising cold spell, I guess it was a case of wishful thinking.

Boy am I glad I bought these! They've filled a major void in my wardrobe. They're printed, a decent length, comfy, fitted, oh, and they're from Asos. I wear them all the time when I'm home and they've been through the washer a few times already, without any damage to the print. Definite plus for me!

In case you don't know, I'm an only child. I don't have any siblings, and while I have loads of cousins who visit from time to time I've always felt a lack of elder siblings. I always envied those friends of mine with their stories of overprotective elder brothers, fashion obsessed sisters and those little brother-sister things that happen everyday.

So I have a 'brother' who isn't really related to me in the conventional sense, but is definitely my brother all the same.Its as if the universe linked the two of us and I have to say, he's filled a void in my life! We met this weekend to celebrate Raksha Bandhan (remember I spoke about it here) and it was such an amazing day! He was even sporting enough to take pictures for the blog!!

Do you have times when you take outfit pictures only to find out that the lens was all blocked up and your pictures turned out blurry? Well, that happens to me quite a bit (hey, I'm really not that good at taking pictures yet!). Usually I tend to throw those straight in the bin, but this time I decided I would share them with you. After all, there's beauty in breakdown, right?






Do you wear leggings are trousers? I used to hate it till a while back (I never would really wear this out in public) but I might be warming up to the idea after tonight. I have the most amazing friends! One of my dearest friends bought me a peplum dress recently as a present, and I've been dying to wear it! Sadly, being the skinny, disproportionate girl that I am (not that I'm complaining) I need to get it altered. But since I couldn't wait, I decided to be a bit clever and add a lace tee to it to cover the ill-fitting bits. I have to say I'm extremely pleased with the overall look. Honestly, I had to force myself to slip out of this once I got back home (this from a girl whose only thought are comfy pjs after long days), I loved it that much! 









I added my blue statement necklace to balance out the deep navy of the skirt. I need to invest in a few bright key pieces for the future. (Just one of the things blogging your outfits teaches you!)  I wore glasses because my eyes were too worn out for lenses. The fact that they go with the colors of the outfit is just a happy coincidence. Overall, a look that I'd definitely try again.

So today was the first day of my Masters course. I cannot believe how disappointed I was! Without going into details, let's just say, its not what I expected. At all! Oh, and as my bad luck continued, I fell down while walking back home. Fan-freaking-tastic!

Now when I got home, all I wanted to do was get out of my grimy clothes a cry in a pillow (happiness, where are you?!?) but I'd decided yesterday, I won't look back and let things get me down. Result, me in a, 'be a tough chick' girl look. My old leather mix skirt with my new lace top. (Oh, did I mention I bought myself a couple of blouses as a pick me up? No? More on that later)
