Chiconomical

This has been an extremely busy week for me. I've spent almost all my free time studying, working and furiously calculating how much I can sleep while travelling to Uni. Eeep! The next week is showing no signs of respite and since I have Mid Terms next week, I really don't think I'll be any better this week. So here's my problem with Uni. I seem to be out all day, but ask me about my social life. Well...erm..I don't really have any. It's quite frustrating, mainly coz I can never seem to dress for a party. Yes, I'm a bit shallow like that! ;)

So I wore this fairly normal outfit to work last week. Its nothing very extraordinary, but this top is one of my favorites, and I just realised it hasn't featured on the blog till date. So I decided it definitely needed a little love over here. I paired it with my Globus trousers that have been such an investment. They aren't in the stores anymore, but I highly recommend getting one of these tailored, cropped trousers if you haven't got one already. Simple accessories (do I ever leave home without them?!) complete the look. All in all, just another day in the life of a working Uni Girl.

Its raining here! Raining!! India should NOT have rains in January. Its just unnatural and has put my whole schedule off track. After a frantic morning of searching for my rain gear as well as rain-friendly outfits to substitute my original planned outfit (yes, I plan outfits in advance now, blame it on the new year) I had to turn my wardrobe upside down. Let me tell you, the ever present cool winds blowing through my bedroom window did not help! (because for some weird reason its winter and monsoon at the same time today). Wanna know how I managed to create an outfit that was both warm enough and still quick drying? I'm going to let the pictures do all the talking!

I'm so happy I managed to find my mom's jumper today. I actually had another combination planned (with lots of layers) but this jumper is so warm+cozy yet quick drying (I've worn this within an hour of washing in the past) that I just knew it was perfect for the ping-pong weather. These trousers are just the right amount of cheat I needed to look like I made an effort to get dressed (nobody needs to know about the waist high pile of clothes at home right!). Add my trusty ballet flats, a bright lippy and I'm all set to face the silly weather. (Oh yea, I wanted a hot pink lipstick, but since I was going to Uni, I toned it down, a little).

How did you feel about the uninvited rains? Did you manage to save yourselves from the unexpected downpours? Let me know in the comments below. You can also join me on Twitter, Facebook, or share your pictures on Instagram.

My shirt has kissing on it! It has lipstick KISSES! How cool is that?! I've been lusting after this shirt for quite a while now, but since I've been on a very tight budget recently, I couldn't really afford it. (Even with its oh so chiconomical price tag). So when I found out about a share and win campaign by the fabulous people at Ahai Shopping, how could I resist!

In case you don't know, I'm an only child. I don't have any siblings, and while I have loads of cousins who visit from time to time I've always felt a lack of elder siblings. I always envied those friends of mine with their stories of overprotective elder brothers, fashion obsessed sisters and those little brother-sister things that happen everyday.

So I have a 'brother' who isn't really related to me in the conventional sense, but is definitely my brother all the same. Its as if the universe linked the two of us and I have to say, he's filled a void in my life! We met this weekend to celebrate Raksha Bandhan (remember I spoke about it here) and it was such an amazing day! He was even sporting enough to take pictures for the blog!!

I'm so happy to present this Part Two of my College wear series. When I got really nice reviews for the first one, I knew I wanted more parts. This is yet another simple look that works well in the college environment. My college dressing is quite simple and fuss free since most mornings I'm rushing about trying to pack a lunch, study for the classes in the day and leave home without forgetting all those little things you need to do (like eating breakfast, locking the door....sigh)

Its been less than a week and these trousers make another appearance on my blog. This blouse is a new buy (remember when I gave you a sneak peek here) and has already seen a lot of wear. I kept it simple with a little sling bag (since I only had a couple of classes that day). Add my bracelets and earrings and I'm all set to leave for Uni, In less than 10 minutes!!!! Gotta love outfits like this.

No, I haven't gone crazy and started talking to inanimate objects. Well, maybe I have..... seeing as how I'm convinced that there's a black hole in my pocket that's sucking all my money away. I think that in an alternate dimension there another me who's got money raining from the most unexpected places.  No? Its my own spending habits that are doing that? Oh....okay....umm...oops!

Another week and another round of shopping! I'm so broke its a Joke! Wait, that rhymed! I really do like rhymes! No, that isn't what this post is about....oh yes, shopping! I've been dropping the BIG bucks this week! For starters, I've got a new phone!! Yay! Although it cost more than a month's salary, and technically mum n dad paid for it....its still mine, and since my old phone was literally falling apart and periodically going into a coma (it lost a few keys last month) this had become a necessity! Thank you so much daddy!

I also did a bit of sale shopping and got a couple of prezzies from my cousins! I went to Globus this week! I LOVE Globus sales....makes me wonder why I still don't have a store card! Must get one next time!

They have some fabulous items on sale currently, and if your in Bandra, you definitely need to have a little look in! Oh, and FLAT 50% thank you very much! They've even got some gorgeous dresses on sale but sadly, skinny little me couldn't even make the XS ones stay on me! One actually slid right back down! Lol!!

Here are my buys (Oops!) from the sale....

And now for the presents! My sisters are fabulous and I love them to bits! Also, they know exactly what I like!(An added bonus!)

So that's my week in purchases! I really do need to sort out my wardrobe...maybe by styles and color?? Any ideas?? Drop a line in the comments down below to let me know! :)
