Crop tops are everybody's fashion favorites in summer and as soon as winter creeps in, they're sentenced to spending a season at the back of the closet. This is all well and good for people who have loads of clothes and can actually afford the separate wardrobes as the seasons change. However, if you're like me and want to get the most out of your wardrobe, then this post is for you! Here are 3 fabulous ways to get the most out of your summer crop tops and wear them through winter!

1. Over the top

I absolutely love the idea of wearing a distinctly summer croptop over a winter knit. This crop top was bought a few years ago at a street vendor eventhough it was too big for me. I layered it over my black polo neck jumper (a Mango from Colaba for a fraction of the retail cost) and then added a long sleeveless coat for a bit more warmth. My trustly piano beanie is a fixed point in my winter wardrobe so obviously it shows up here. A simple monochrome look to take all your summer favorites to winter, this can be worn to work or play!

2. Under the coat

Usually, I buy crop tops that are slightly longer simply because I like to use them for work as well as parties. However, once in a while, you see a geometric print that takes your heart and then the price is around the cost of a coffee at Starbucks and you find yourself rushing to the counter to hand over your coffee money. This crop top is exactly that steal and I decided to layer it under a coat for warmth and added a high waisted palazzo pant to hide my belly fat. Of course, the earrings are a nice pop of color. (PS: This 'designer' bag from Quirk Box was bought on sale last month, go check them out cos there's some great deals on their cool prints!)

3. Layered to Perfection

Finally, I wanted a look for the office that made use of simple elements every girl probably already owns. A white crop top with cutouts, a black pencil skirt (girls, you have to have one if you don't yet) and a blanket scarf. The possiblities are endless! I decided to keep myself warm by wrapping it around my neck. If its still too chilly for you, don't hesitate to add tights and a long coat on top! A simple look that can be worn to work while still being cosy.

Summer is finally here. Tis the season for crop tops and cool trousers. Recently, vintage looking outfits seem to catch my fancy. This outfit is something along those lines. I am currently all above high waisted skirts and pants with crop tops. I styled this outfit for a friend's dinner party. I had a meeting that day, so I actually wore a shirt through the day (remember this outfit) and then changed into the crop top and vest.

I have a lot of love for these trousers. They had to be altered and I can't believe I almost returned them! Thankfully, mom saw a way of altering them without messing up the silhouette. The button detailing at the waist is absolutely my favorite thing!  Oh, in case you've noticed, I've mentioned the approximate prices of items that weren't bought by me. A friend recently pointed out that I mention a lot of things that are gifted and in turn, don't add their prices to the overall total. Well, I may not always know the exact price of the gifts, but from now on, I'll mention prices of similar items. I hope this helps you guys get a better idea of the total outfit price range.

PS: Sorry I've haven't been posting regularly (Thank you, real life!). I've got a few people asking me if I'm unwell and its great to see that someone does read the blog and notices the absence of posts. I'm thankful for your kind words and I hope I can blog regularly soon.

Today on Stripey Saturday, I thought of doing something different. Instead of the usual outfit post, I thought it would be a good idea to do a sort of striped round up. While I have quite a few striped things already, I still have a lot few on my wishlist that I hope to check off soon.

Here are my top wishlist things! Almost all pictures are from Pinterest or Instagram!

It seems I've made a habit of being MIA these days! I promise, there's a very good reason for this bad behavior. However, sometimes I'm not comfortable sharing a few aspects of my life on a public platform. All I can say is, I'm extremely proud of myself at the moment! (Insert happy chicken dance here)

So did you miss me? Didn't even notice I was gone huh? ;)

Onto the outfit, I took these pictures a few weeks ago for the blog, but somehow real life got in the way. My love for maxi-anything is no secret and this skirt was bought after much debate over the color with a rather reluctant friend (yes, I remember how much effort you took to convince me while I debated the advantages of buying ALL the colors). While the color turned out to be NOT what was mentioned on the box, I still think its kinda cool. Oh, and did I mention it has pleats?

I turned this shirt (Also worn here) into a croptop by simply tying it a little higher than normal and added the feather earrings for a boho vibe. Now that I seem to be stuck in various rooms for better parts of my day, this outfit just screams beach to me.

Basically, I've developed an obsession this summer that simply won't go away! I seem to be tucking and folding even my normal tees to turn them into crop tops to wear in this near melting heat. This time, its a crop with a pleated maxi skirt. This skirt is gorgeous and I even wore it when I went to watch X-Men last week! (Pretty good movie btw).

So I decided this tshirt simply wasn't cutting it in the heat and did a little sneaky tucking and folding, added a little statement necklace and boom, an outfit worthy of brunch on lazy weekends. Of course the hair was in a messy bun, coz well, its summer and anything that touches my neck is just too much to handle.

Apart from this, there's a giveaway coming up tomorrow! Stay tuned! In the meantime, don't forget to follow us on Facebook to keep up with the best bargains!

My obsession with crop tops seems to grow everyday. Coupled with the rising temperatures, its my two new loves that have taken centre stage. The Palazzo pants have come out with all their pop colors to combat the heat. Thank god for wide leg pants that can let my body breathe! Right?

Classics are the best when you want fuss free dressing. This classic black croptop is so good, I think its practically a wardrobe staple. These simple palazzo pants are just such a pretty color you immediately want to wear them all the time! I kept the look simple so as to keep the focus on the clean lines. I think summers are the best time for minimal dressing. The hat was just a last minute addition to keep my messy hair in check. Overall, something I think I'll be wearing over and over again this summer.
