• Look for prints that keep things interesting. A simple scarf tied as a sarong can look unique and not be too heavy on the pocket. 
• Beachwear is defined by your accessories. If you can't quite invest in an outfit, look for accessories that are fun. Think reflective sunglasses or a floppy hat. 
• Prints make everything better. Look for dresses in tropical prints, florals and bright colors. 
• Don't forget that the most important thing is confidence. Don't worry about what you look like, just remember to let the waves bring you peace and calm! 

Hello Tuesday! It's yet another Tuesday and you know what that means! I've gone out and found three ways to wear something awesome. In case you've been thinking of investing in a piece that you just don't think you can get the best cost per wear out of, I've got you covered. While last week, I spoke about how to wear a white jumpsuit in three different ways, today I'm tackling its sometimes trickier cousin, the playsuit. A playsuit is what I'd define as the risque cousin of the more demure jumpsuit and is usually characterised by a mid thigh length and sometimes a much more forgiving fit. I decided to style this playsuit that's got an almost fairytale feel with its pastel blue color and ruffles three different ways. No, Koovs doesn't sponsor any of my wardrobe or posts although I sometimes wish they did! Anyway, onto the three simple, quick and unique ways to style this ruffled playsuit. Mind you, these tricks work well with almost any old playsuit you may have lying in your cupboard.



Candy Floss Gypsy

Summers almost always make me want to bring out the bright colors. This candy floss skirt was a street find that made my eyes hurt and that's just how I decided to buy it. The pop pink neon is such a cool color I almost wish I was popping a bubble gum while wearing this!


I layered my powder blue playsuit with this bright maxi skirt and added a few bohemian accessories to complete the look. The bag compliments and ties everything together too!

Classic Brunching

The simplest way to wear an outfit is by not adding any extra frills to it and letting it speak for itself. Since this playsuit has such a great style, I decided to wear it just the way it is with just a few pieces added to complete the look.


The necklace that I'm wearing is actually a pair of bowties (you may have seen me sporting it in this post) that I bought in the Quirk Box sale and decided to thread through an old broken necklace to make my very own new one! Adding a pair of flats and I'm all ready to walk into a sunday brunch in style!

Sweet Punk Rocker

Okay, this is the look I'm most excited about! If you're a girl who loves her frills as much as her boots then this look is for you.

For this look, I simply added a cropped black tshirt on top and topped off the look with a pair of ankle boots. You guys, this is one of my favorite looks and honestly, I love how unique and different it looks compared to the rest of the three looks!

The summer heat that's caught hold of Mumbai means all the summer classics are now out for battling the heat. This means that the crop tops and palazzos are out and bonus points if they are white. Crop tops have been a summer staple for a few years now. In fact, I remember writing a post about how to wear crop tops and palazzos around three years ago, (gosh, has it really been that long??) on this exact topic where I spoke about how much I love minimal dressing for summer.


While the original post was about wearing bright colors and clean minimal summer outfits, today's outfit is about drama. It's always fun when you can add drama to an outfit which screams minimalist summer style. Here, I've paired a white, off shoulder front tie crop top with a pair of printed palazzos. If you want to check all of summer 2017's hottest trends in one outfit, this is probably the kind of outfit you'll wear.



I added two chokers (a version of layering with chokers), one velvet and another in simple lace to create a thicker choker. Ideally, you could even get away with wearing a thick satin ribbon for this style. The rest of the look is simple with my hair up in a messy bun (yes, yet another post where this is the look I'm sporting). Seriously, a top knot is the perfect summer hairstyle because it's just so simple to create a messy bun and call it fashion! (Believe me, I do it all.the.time). The overall look is the ideal weekend casual chic outfit. You could even wear this to a fancy summer garden party or brunch.

A monochrome shirt. A striped monochrome shirt. Is there anything better? How about one that's got the perfect price too! It's not see through, it's perfect for the office and it's really possible to wear on every ocassion. If you've ever faced a situation where you invested in a beautiful bodycon dress, wore it once and then were at a complete loss about how to wear it without it looking the same, well you aren't alone! In this week's edition of ThreeWayTuesday, I share my take on wearing the same bodycon dress in three fresh, interesting ways so that you never have to feel or look the same inspite of wearing the same clothes.

I have been obsessed with Star Wars since I was a child. Indeed, I prayed for days to have Yoda as a pet (nope, no regular cats and dogs for me thank you!) and when that didn't happen, I went right ahead and pestered my parents to buy me a robot. Surely somebody had to be selling an R2D2 right? Fast forward to present day and I still obsess over my childhood characters and that's exactly how I ended up buying this dress! I saw it in a forever21 store, just lying that all lonesome on the rack and knew I was talking it home with me! Of course, as the story goes, I tire easily of wearing the same thing twice but since I'd paid full price (the horror!) I simply had to come up with ways to reuse it. Result? I've got three of my favorite looks to share with this bodycon dress!

Look 1: The Mad Scientist

 In case you are a girl who is all about her experiments in science, then this is a look that probably is what you walk around in. One of the most interesting ways to repurpose your labcoat is to use it as a layering piece. A quick way to tone down a rather bold bodycon dress (and let's face it, is there any other kind) is to pair it with a layer that's exactly its opposite. I love how this look is almost a bit of mad scientist and is great for quick little lunches and even those festivals that seem to be happening every weekend.

Look 2: The Demure Geek



Finally, if you're inner fashionista is actually a demure wallflowers, then this is a look that's speak to your soul. Yet another way to wear your bodycon dress is to pair it with a flowy skirt. Here, I paired it with my favorite type of skirt which is a midi skirt. I kept the look monochrome with a bit of color coming from my bag and heels. This look works well with pretty much any kind of skirt. Add a pencil skirt and a blazer and you've got a cool printed blouse to wear to work. An added bonus, you can add a blazer and take this look to work and then slip out into your original dress to get the perfect day to night transition outfit!

Look 3: The Coachella Girl



If you're a girl who can't get over coachella inspite of the festival being officially done, this look is for you. One of the simplest ways to reuse a bodycon dress is to wear it as a top. Especially with the current madness with bodysuits, its a nice little hack where you can use your bodycon dress to mimic a bodysuit. I love how bohemian yet simple this look is. Put your hair up in a messy top knot and add a pair of boots are you're good to go!

When I chanced upon this shirt dress on Koovs, I simply couldn't help myself. Yes, it isn't a streetbuy but I still took full advantage of their weekend 50% off sale and bought this as a little summer treat. So what does deconstructed mean? It means taking something apart and using the pieces to make something new, in the simplest sense. This dress actually has a skewed shirt collar that goes one shoulder and the buttons along one sleeve. These then continue along the bottom around the waist. All in all, its such an interesting piece with detailing that it immediately stands out. In case you guys don't think you're ready to spend so much in this trend though, I'm going to have a post up with wearing your normal shirt dress in interesting ways so stay tuned for that!

For this look, I decided I wanted to keep things simple. I simply added a pair of white sneakers and sunglasses. Since the summer makes it near impossible to manage long hair, I decided to braid it (with a whole lot of help from my friend and photographer Shruti) and kept the accessories to a minimum with just a pair of rings and tiny earrings. The overall look is perfect in case you're planning a quick getaway this long weekend or just have a lazy day out with friends. 

In case you need some more pointers to find the deconstructed piece you invest in, here are a few tips! 

Tips to try out the Deconstructed Trend: 

• While the deconstructed shirt is the most commonly known piece, it doesn't have to be! You can find skirts, trousers, even shoes with this trend thrown in subtly. 
• Look for pieces that are already your favorites. If you love wearing shirts, try to find a deconstructed shirt. If skirts are your thing, go look for a skirt that's in a color that you love and then has a bit of deconstructed element thrown in. 
• Look for pieces that spark joy! Honestly, if you don't feel joy looking at it, chances are you won't even wear it once.
• DIY it! Yes, if investing in this trend is too big, try DIY. It can be as simple as moving a shirt pocket from its normal place to the bottom edge of the shirt. Or it can be as complex and cutting of the collar and reattaching it sideways. No matter what your skill level, there's a number of ways to try it out without spending a lot of money!
