Every person who works in corporate world will swear by casual Fridays which are to be the days for "smart" casuals. Now I'm nowhere close to a real job yet, so that basically means I can get away with wearing lots of "smart" (And not so smart) casuals everyday. My Uni isn't exactly short stuff friendly,so you will usually find me in a pair of jeans or tights, with an oversized top. This outfit post was shot impromptu on a day when I was having a really bad (read puking twice in the bathroom) day so I apologise for the peaky face in advance.

First off, let me start by saying a big thank you to my friend for taking these pictures! I absolutely loved the location and I wish I could ask you to take pictures of my outfit posts everyday!! The outfit is nothing fancy, but still looks put together if you pay attention to details.












The best way to pull off smart casuals is to find a good pair of jeans. Add a simple striped top and a statement necklace with heels, its the fastest way to look put together, without the effort of chucking half your wardrobe onto the floor. You can also wear a peplum top with printed tights. There are also some gorgeous overall options out there right now if you wanna go for the laid back look. (I'm still looking for that perfect pair of ripped jeans n overalls that don't make me look like a street bum). And finally, don't forget to wear your confidence. Casuals are all about comfort, so if you don't feel comfortable, don't wear it!

It's the Valentine month and its a horrible time to be single. I swear the whole universe has been conspiring to annoy me with mushy displays of romantic bits and bobs. I usually have very materialistic answers to the induced bad moods at times like these (ice-cream tub, new statement necklace and lots of pizza with Doctor Who playing in the background). However, I've been on a stint of near poverty thanks to the fabulously slow government that my country has, and this meant my usual solution to sadness doesn't work this year. Its times like these that my love for fashion comes to my rescue.












I love the simplicity of this outfit. I got lots of compliments for how I looked, from people at Uni. I feel that a crisp white shirt with blue jeans can be taken practically anywhere (well, maybe not to an 80's ballroom dance) and still look perfect. A statement necklace in mint is yet another brilliant thing in my opinion. It goes great with most outfits and adds just the right amount of 'me' to the whole outfit. Overall, something that anybody can try without probably leaving their homes. I mean, we all have a white shirt and blue jeans right? Don't have a statement necklace? Try wearing one of those OTT wedding-y necklaces your mom has in pastel tones with the shirt. I promise heads will turn, in a good way!

Its the second day of 2014. I've been to Uni today, caught up with what all my friends did over the holidays and overall had a relaxed day. A few friends who had been overseas got chocolates, so I did spend a major portion of the afternoon stuffing my face. No, I kid you not. I had about three chocolates in my mouth at one time, and still tried really hard to wedge another one in there. If you've ever spent any time with hostel-ites, you know its either eat it or lose it when they're around.

Anyway, on to today's outfit. I decided to wear something relaxed and air out my only pair of jeans that fit. I've lost quite a bit of weight in the last few months thanks to Uni stress and this is how practically ever morning starts when I have to get dressed on time.

Me*whines and wails*: Muuum, these pants don't fit either!

Mum: You need to eat something my love. You're really disappearing.

Me: I really don't have time for that mum, what do I do?!*hysterical by now since I'm already late*

Mum*calmer than the ocean voice*: This is what belts were invented for you know. Go try one of your million belts.

Me: Realising I haven't tried my belts on yet, runs and tries to pull one out. Of course they all decided to jump out together, and get tangled together at that. Yay! That's another five minutes to my morning routine.

Me: (after trying three belts and wishing my pants magically shrink a size): No!!! Mom!! These make me look like a coat hanger, It looks Terrrible! MOOOOM!! I'm late!!!

And so on...I won't bore you anymore. But yes, as you can imagine, when I found these jeans hiding at the back of my closet, I SCREAMED! Hallelujah! They fit! Without a belt! (which means they don't fall down without one)




I added this necklace to spruce things up a little bit. I love how it brightens up the whole look. A pretty casual look you can wear to college or coffee. I think accessories are great for days when you can't be bothered with too much thinking in the morning.
