As I grow up and spend more time taking on adult-like responsibilities, I realised that I haven't really ever grown up. Sure, I can be responsible but its often heard misconception that growing up and being responsible go hand in hand. I never learnt to swap out my flowers for tiaras. I never learnt to make a formal hairstyle out of the mess that my hair always is. I never learnt that wearing red was a taboo when you were a working professional in the corporate world. I never learnt that letting your inner diva out is frowned upon when you're stuck in the world of stuffy suits with stuffier outlooks to life. I never learn't much...






I did however, learn to play in the puddles on the street wearing my bright rain boots. I learnt to wear my Star Wars dress to work with a blazer because blazers make everything look professional. I learnt that being a geek was always me but then I didn't need to show it to the world. I learnt the hard way that people judged you on the way you look even before they've said a word to you. I learnt soon not to care about such people. I think growing up makes you realise that you need to be free. Freedom is not travelling when you fancy it, although that could be your definition of it. Freedom is a state of mind. I may conform to the standards set by society but then I will not give up my individuality. I will wear my feathers if I want to, I will wear my metal tiara because its still got flowers that make me smile. I will wear my five rings to work and not care if you stare. That's who I grew up to be. A gypsy soul stuck in the confines of the modern world.

My last post was all about taking inspiration from the #LakmeSchoolofStyle and inspired by the masterclass taken by Nishka Lulla. While I wasn't planning to do a separate post on all the outfits styled in those posts, a few requests from the readers have prompted me to write detailed posts on each look. The first look I styled was a bohemian look.






This look is purely dominated by earthy tones. I styled a simple dress with ethnic prints with mainly wooden accessories. Bohemian is all about wearing seemingly clashing items and still making them all work together. I used to be a big fan of loud accessories a few years ago. (Anyone who knew me in my under grad days will attest to that!). Recently, I've started liking minimal looks with muted accessories, but I still like to indulge and wear my old accessories sometimes. I used an old wooden necklace as a bracelet and paired everything with my favorite jute bag. It was a present from Mom and Dad and I love the chevron style design.

• Choose outfits in earth tones and tan colors. Clothes with dispersed small prints in pastel colors also work well with this trend.
• Pair clashing trends without losing a cohesive overall theme in the look. That's what Bohemian is all about.
• Wooden or dull metal accessories work well to complement this look. Try wearing your wooden necklace as a headband to give yourself a cool boho vibe.
• Gladiators work well for summers. Tan galdiator sandles work well for any laid back outfit.
• Fringes give an instant boho vibe. Invest in a fringed bag or top to get the 70's vibe. 
• A maxi dress with a headband is a great way to channel the boho look without too much effort. 

It seems I've made a habit of being MIA these days! I promise, there's a very good reason for this bad behavior. However, sometimes I'm not comfortable sharing a few aspects of my life on a public platform. All I can say is, I'm extremely proud of myself at the moment! (Insert happy chicken dance here)

 So did you miss me? Didn't even notice I was gone huh? ;)

Onto the outfit, I took these pictures a few weeks ago for the blog, but somehow real life got in the way. My love for maxi-anything is no secret and this skirt was bought after much debate over the color with a rather reluctant friend (yes, I remember how much effort you took to convince me while I debated the advantages of buying ALL the colors). While the color turned out to be NOT what was mentioned on the box, I still think its kinda cool. Oh, and did I mention it has pleats?







I turned this shirt (Also worn here) into a croptop by simply tying it a little higher than normal and added the feather earrings for a boho vibe. Now that I seem to be stuck in various rooms for better parts of my day, this outfit just screams beach to me.

Remember when I did a review of the Elabore store a few weeks back? How I was highly impressed with their collection and promptly made a wishlist! Well, I received an order from them a few days ago and felt it was only fair to do a review of their customer care and delivery.

So the folks at Elabore Store were kind enough to send me a scarf to review. I didn't know which one they were sending, but I'm quite happy with the one I got. I don't usually go for bold graphic prints in scarves, preferring to use them to add pops of color to everyday outfits so this piece was a welcome addition. When I saw this print, I had a vision of pool parties (I do seem to dream of water a lot these days don't I!) and wearing it as a sarong. So that's exactly how I styled it!

The first thing I noticed when I opened the gorgeous gift wrapping (yay!) is that its exactly like the pictures on the site. This is important when it comes to colored/printed items as some sites don't show the actual color which leads to disappointment. Thankfully the people at Elabore Store deliver everything that's written on the box, and then some.

Delivery was fairly quick and I received it in three days from the date of ordering. Talk about quick huh!? Oh, and it came in this pretty wrapping paper. If you didn't know already, they provide gift wrapping service for no extra cost! Yay!! Solves all you're gifting problems right?! Anyway, I shall let the outfit do the talking about how pretty the scarf is!

As much as I love conspiracy theories, I'm not turning this into a discussion about crop circles. Its more of an outfit description actually. Bear with with me.

Weekends in my world usually tend to have lots of food, cosy PJs and crazy TV marathons. Oh, I also study somewhere in between all this wonderful revelry, but then, sleep usually gets in the way, or that phone call from my cousin inviting me to the beach with him. That's weekend with me for you. So imagine my surprise when I had definite plans for Saturday evening. Yes, just a like a grown up person, with a nice place and real people and everything (as opposed to my imaginary boyfriends)!









While it was an informal dinner, I decided I needed to make more of an effort (well, I don't think the people at the restaurant would appreciate my thread-bare tshirt, no matter how cool I think it is). I've been lusting after circle skirts for quite sometime, but since I have barely any money to cover my food for the week, well, it was time to get creative. I wore a dress with a full skirt as a well, skirt, and added my trusty chinese collar top (this is such a life saver!) as a crop. Oh, and since I wanted to have a more boho look, I added a headband. This makes me feel like I stepped out of the pages of Disco Diva or Boho Bombshell (wait, is that a real thing?)

I have started to feel like its winter. This is a very good thing in my book, because that means I get to wear some of my 'winter' clothes that have been feeling a little lonely. Oh, and since I'm now on my official study break, this means I get to dress in clothes not restricted by Uni regulations. Erm....for the next four days atleast.








This black skirt is made of a fairly heavy fabric which makes it perfect for cool evenings. This jumper is, no surprise for guessing, mom's and yet another from her seemingly never-ending collection of cool clothes that are practically vintage now! Overall, this look makes me feel like something a school teacher in the West would wear.
