Okay! No, I haven't completely lost it. Its the 'New year' (Saal Mubarak == Happy New Year) according to our traditions. The tradition in my house says I should wear all my new clothes and go seek blessings from my elders...and that's exactly what I did today.

If you follow me on Facebook  or Instagram (and if not they why????) you know that I had a little dilemma about what to wear. Contrary to what everyone suggested, I ended up listening to my mum (the only person in favor of my outfit) and wore this custom made kurta and churidar set that was gifted to me by my uncle and his family.






While I was slightly unhappy with the absence of visible neckline (I'm mildly obsessed with my collarbones) I still like how the outfit looks. As for the other choice, oh, I might just wear it tomorrow (there's one more day of festivity left you know!), provided I can finish a couple of assignments before I have to leave to for a family function.

Red! I was extremely shocked when I couldn't find anything yesterday morning that was both, Uni appropriate and red. Yes, I kid you not! Thankfully, my gorgeous collection of vintage things came to my rescue. (Big thank you to my aunt!). This little top has been in the family for about 2 generations now, or so I hear! Its got handmade bead designs, is a throwback to the old days when people had time to do intricate work to their outfits and it still looks like a million bucks! Yay!!

Its (yet another) festive day down in India. Today is something called RakshaBandhan, and for all those people reading this who don't know much about Indian traditions, its literal translation would be something like 'bond of protection' or more colloquially, its a celebration of the relation between brothers and sisters. Now I celebrated this festival on last Sunday, mainly because I did not have a holiday from Uni (why God?!!) and had a couple of tests scheduled for today. Nonetheless, in the spirit of festivity, I'l share some of my pictures from the day!
