If you've read this blog for some time, you probably know I have an instant fascination with everything that has pockets! This dress is old, bought on a whim while meeting friends and it has been a party favorite ever since. I love the muted work around the neck, but most of all, i LOVE the deep pockets! You can't even see them, but boy do they come in handy when you're dancing and need a place to stash your phone.











I wore this dress to a cousin's birthday party a while back and the compliments I got just made the evening that much sweeter (of course the endless supply of cake was more than welcome). Mind you, these pictures are from a couple of weeks ago, when I had some semblance of a life. Currently, just editing and posting on my blog alongwith Uni work makes me wanna curl up in a ball in cry. Oh well, hopefully May will be here soon, and I'll be able to relax just a little bit. (GOD!! Can you please fast forward time for me!)

Every girl needs an outfit that can take her to from a regular work day to dinner with friends. The other day, I showed you how you can wear a simple slip dress to work with an oversized blazer (Granted, I did wear it to a dinner). Well, this got me thinking, swap the oversized for a structured blazer and you could actually wear it in a more formal setting. I decided to take things out of the office though (eventhough I usually leave the 'party' dressing to others who actually enjoy partying) and see if I could style it for a post-work drinks and food setting. Here's what I came up with...






Excuse the funky hair, I took these after a long day at Uni. I love how gorgeous this dress looks and I think these dresses are the reason why I started the blog. You see, its finding pieces like this one that make me love street shopping. I fell that no matter how many malls crop up in the city, I'll never get over the charm of street shopping.

As much as I love conspiracy theories, I'm not turning this into a discussion about crop circles. Its more of an outfit description actually. Bear with with me.

Weekends in my world usually tend to have lots of food, cosy PJs and crazy TV marathons. Oh, I also study somewhere in between all this wonderful revelry, but then, sleep usually gets in the way, or that phone call from my cousin inviting me to the beach with him. That's weekend with me for you. So imagine my surprise when I had definite plans for Saturday evening. Yes, just a like a grown up person, with a nice place and real people and everything (as opposed to my imaginary boyfriends)!









While it was an informal dinner, I decided I needed to make more of an effort (well, I don't think the people at the restaurant would appreciate my thread-bare tshirt, no matter how cool I think it is). I've been lusting after circle skirts for quite sometime, but since I have barely any money to cover my food for the week, well, it was time to get creative. I wore a dress with a full skirt as a well, skirt, and added my trusty chinese collar top (this is such a life saver!) as a crop. Oh, and since I wanted to have a more boho look, I added a headband. This makes me feel like I stepped out of the pages of Disco Diva or Boho Bombshell (wait, is that a real thing?)

Its the new year! How has your first day of 2014 been? Mine has been quite good. I did all the usual things, but somehow, the day seemed brighter. Suddenly I feel like there are endless possibilities in the future. I've made a couple of resolutions. But I shan't be sharing them because I have this belief that if I do, I'll never follow through. Do you feel that way too?

So today's outfit is actually my NYE outfit. I thought it was the perfect outfit to start the new year with, who doesn't need a bit of happy and shiny right?










I never plan my new years. They usually have lots of family, food and some more food involved. I'm not a big fan of loud parties where most of the people are half drunk by the time we reach the countdown and usually falling all over the place in their excitement. Give me a quite evening with good food and good company any day. However, this doesn't mean I didn't dress up. We decided to dress up and since it was a little chilly when we went out to see the fireworks, I decided to add a pair of bright tights to my dress. Overall, I love how kitschy this look turned out.
