With coachella still on everyone's minds, then you know tis the season to be bohemian. While the definition of bohemian differs for every person, one thing that's pretty uniform in all trains of thought is accessories. Nothing says free spirit quite like wearing a neckpiece in your hair or an anklet with your stuffy formals (yes, I did it once during busy season at work). Now, I don't know about you guys, but I absolutely love getting custom made pieces of jewelry and that's why a homegrown new store was high on my radar!


Rutuz Craft Studio is a jewellry and accessories store based out of Mumbai and Pune. The brilliant ladies at the studio work their magic with all sorts of materials like beads, copper, tassles, wood (whoa!) to come up with unique designs for every girl who doesn't like to wear mass produced items. All their pieces are handmade and you can always tell them exactly what you want! So of course, when they got in touch with me, I asked I wanted a headpiece. Hey, I've got those maang tikkas but there's no such thing as too much when it comes to headgear right?



Now, the lovely team at Rutuz Craft Studio sent me three brilliant pieces for review. First off, can we take a moment to appreciate how lovely these pieces are? It's all hand crafted and trust me when I say you can feel the love and positive energy it brings! I wore the neckpiece while running errands and honestly, its a welcome addition to my wardrobe. I'm seeing the hand harness and the headpiece in my very next outfit post already! (Yep, stay tuned for that).


Ok, so I can hear your wheels turning saying this is all good but its crazy expensive I just know it! Right? Wrong!! Everything in ther store falls in the very affordable price range starting from Rs. 150 upto around Rs. 1500. For instance, all my pieces were under Rs. 500!! Yep, that's pretty much the same range in which most accessories fall in, in mall stores. (Not to mention most of those are mass produced, meaning you and you cousins can all be matchy matchy, in a not so good way). However, for custom made pieces, this price range is crazy awesome!!

So how do you get your hands on their lovely pieces? They currently operate from Facebook and Instagram and are in the process of setting up various other online payment options too. They've assured me that COD will be up and running very soon! They ship via a courier service that'll give the fastest delivery to your location and the shipping costs depend on the destination. Honestly, I'm a big believer in supporting anyone who's creative and imagine my happiness when I found such lovely designs practically in my backyard. Yep, you've got to give them a shot. Also, don't forget to tell me how you'd want me to style these pieces in the comments below!

Summers in India are hot and brutal. I've gone about three shades darker and on most days I look like a human frying pan. Sure, I get to eat mangoes! Yep, gotta love summers for mangoes. But this still doesn't cover the fact that I simply can't stand the heat anymore. So excuse the grumpy expressions. I did manage a couple of smiles once I got to the beach and got my feet wet. Nothing like a little blue to calm those overheated nerves. Right?







This dress always makes me think I'm a human art-piece. And to think I didn't even want to buy it in the first place! I just got the bow out and did a little kooky tying to make it look more streamlined. I imagine taking to a meeting with a fitted blazer and a chignon (hopefully with a smile too). Overall, not a very good face, but still a gorgeous dress.

Hey guys! First off, thank you so much for your response to Thrifty Thursday! I got a few requests asking for statement necklaces and what prices to expect for them. So, for my first ever Thrifty Thursday post, I'm going to showcase one of my favorite things ever, a simple statement necklace!



This is one, extremely versatile piece! While most of the larger necklaces don't lend themselves easily to traditional clothes, this particular size can be worn with simple Indian dresses as well as western outfits! This is the last part of my outfit round up of 2013. I'm a little sad, a little happy and quite excited to say buhbyee to 2013 and a big hello to 2014! Its been a rollercoaster. I've started Uni again, done fairly well, cursed quite a bit about how rubbish my life was in the last few months and still managed to enjoy myself. I have a few resolutions lined up for the coming year. Do you have any yet?

This is part two to my round up of my top outfit picks from the year gone by. I remember vaguely that I spent a good part of these months worrying about my education. I worried about where I would end up, whether I made the right decisions with my life, and other such serious things. However, I also remember that all of this was finally settled and by the first of August, I was spend all my days in Uni trying to catch up with all the deadlines that were back in my life with a bang.

So I didn't have even a single post up in May (Haw! Bad blogger!) since I was literally running round the country trying to get into the Uni of my choice. But I did manage to compensate for that but posting all the long overdue Lakme Fashion Week posts in June. (Weren't those fun!) Come July and August, I got serious about blogging. It was extremely hard to pick my favorites (especially from August) but here are a few highlights.

Street shopping in Mumbai is a part of everyday life. The major spots in my book have to be Colaba Causeway and Bandra. These places always have the best and latest in terms of all things fashion. Last week, I decided to go shop for my birthday (which was on the 24th!) and since I'm not a big fan of the possibility of wearing the same outfit as my neighbour in the trains, I decided I'd go shop on the streets instead of high street brands. (Much cheaper too!)
